Average Collected Balance & Savings Accounts Explained:

Similar to the average daily balance, the average collected balance is the sum of all days' balances in an account over a period, that is normally a month, minus any uncollected checks, divided by the number of days in that same period. The ACB is practical for arriving at the amount of interest on the account balance while separating the uncollected checks that do not accrue interest.
